Less time writing observations, more time with the children

Your team jots down what they saw, and Obsly writes it up — so the evening isn’t spent at a screen.

There’s a plan to suit most settings — from a single childminder to a large nursery. You pay for the staff who use it, with no limit on how many children are on your roll.

The details

Three things managers ask

One account each, and why

Everyone needs their own login. A shared password makes your sign-off record worthless — if three people use one account, nobody signed anything. Your own login is what makes “she wrote it, she stood behind it” mean something.

Fair usage policy →

Monthly, cancel any time

Just a month at a time. No annual contract, no “commit and save” — we’d rather earn it every month. Cancel and your plan ends when the month does.

No limit on children

On every paid tier there’s no cap on how many children are on your roll. You pay for the people writing observations, not the children they’re about.

Every plan

The same product, whatever you pay

Observations from your notes

Jot down what you saw; Obsly writes it up in your own words, ready for you to check.

Framework links, in your words

Every EYFS link quotes the words from your own note — never padded, never invented.

It won’t flatter a thin note

A note with little in it stays short. Obsly won’t inflate it into something it isn’t.

A sign-off behind every note

Each observation is created by the practitioner who logged in, and stands in her name.

A PDF for any child

Export a child’s record as a PDF whenever you need one — for a parent, a move or a visit.

Nothing sent without a press

Notes leave the server only when a practitioner presses Create, and she sees what’s sent.

Questions

The five we hear most

We already have Tapestry.

Good — keep it. Tapestry stores your observations; Obsly writes them. Different job. There's no migration, no switching, and nothing to undo if you stop.

That's more than we pay for Tapestry.

True, and the comparison to make is with staff time, not software. If everyone between them saves half an hour a week, it's covered — you can do that sum without believing anything we've told you.

We tried AI and it was generic rubbish.

Fair. The difference is that every framework link here quotes the words from your own note, and it refuses to pad a thin note into something it isn't. The worked example on our how-it-works page shows exactly that.

I'd need to ask the owner.

Then don't decide alone. Try it in one room for a month on the free plan, or forward a half-page that makes the case — and come back when you've seen whether anyone asks to keep it.

Do you need our children's data?

A practitioner's notes are sent, once, only when she presses Create — and she sees exactly what's about to go first. No dates of birth leave the server, and no other child is named in the finished record.
